Mooner GL follows up his standout Moon Harbour debut in 2025 with three more left-of-centre tech house weapons.
Last year was a big breakout for this Colombian artist. He topped plenty of digital charts and was heralded as one of tech house’s most inventive new producers after dropping hits on the likes of Rawthentic and Flashmob. His sound is always groovy but looks outside the usual places for inspiration and comes with creative textures and a curious character that means crowds always take note.
The title cut opens with a hot mix of warped and dynamic synths. The groove is supple and held back to start – movement rhythm comes from filtered bass before big kicks land to ramp up the energy. ‘Jordan 6’ is a steamy after-hours tech cut that plays around with freaky synth textures and atmospheric breakdowns that keep you guessing. It’s loopy and unhinged in all the right ways. Closer ‘Green Cricket’ is built from more imaginative sounds – twanging metal hits, wonky synths, fragments of Latin vocals – as a minimal house rhythm unfurls below and casts a spell on the dance floor.
Three inventive cuts, endless personality and another EP that proves Mooner GL is operating in his own lane entirely.
