Cyava
Señorita Bonita

Cyava is the latest Italian to light up the tech house underground, and his Moon Harbour debut shows why. The three tracks on his Señorita Bonita EP mix up depth, drive and plenty of big room character.

Cyava doesn’t play it safe, which is why he has become a new school star. His work blends tech house and minimal with a knack for playful sampling, and it’s been backed by Rüfüs Du Sol, Marco Carola, and The Martinez Brothers. He blazes a trail through Europe’s top clubs from Eden and Tantra in Ibiza to Opium Madrid.

The red-hot title track opens up with layers of loose percussion and well-defined drums that bristle with energy before a bold bassline arrives and rolls deep. Excitable vocal yelps arrive in Spanish to bring an exotic twist next to the ever-shifting synths. ‘Myself’ is a tighter, more stripped-back cut with subtle vocals injecting soul into a deep, tribal groove that never quits. Cyava then dial up the heat on the closer ‘Phonk,’ a smouldering and chunky tune with disco strings bringing bursts of colour while the rolling bassline pulls you ever deeper into the groove.

Playful where it needs to be, driving when it counts, and never short on character, Cyava’s well-rounded Moon Harbour debut keeps him firmly at the forefront.
