Moon Harbour founder Matthias Tanzmann links up with the next generation of Leipzig talent on the new collaborative single ‘Waiting’ with AYOUBYME and ROOMER.
Leipzig is, of course, where Moon Harbour was established more than 25 years ago, and it is the city that first inspired Matthias in the mid-1990s. He helped shape its sound by playing regularly at the renowned Distillery and now shines a light on the city once again by working with two fast-rising local talents.
The first is ROOMER, aka German international footballer, RB Leipzig left-back and club captain David Raum. He first appeared on the label this spring with his remix of The Deepshakerz and Xander Pratt’s ‘Eyes’. This time, he teams up with up-and-comer AYOUBYME, whose stripped-back, groove-driven sound has already found its way into high-profile DJ sets and onto labels such as Me And My Friends.
Together, the trio craft an irresistible, summer-ready sound on ‘Waiting’, building tension with chunky drums and rolling piano chords. Sustained pads and subtly teased snippets of sensual vocals keep dancers locked in before a subtle drop releases the pressure and sends hands into the air.
