Classmatic
Be My Lover feat. Harrsion Crump

Brazil’s house heavyweight Classmatic steps out of the club and into the heart with a timeless new deep house gem featuring Chicago vocalist Harrison Crump.

Classmatic, real name Frederico Farias, started DJing in his early teenage years in Brazil, and after a pivotal move to Las Vegas in 2015, he fell deep into the US house scene and soon broke through internationally. He’s since dropped some big-hitting tunes like ‘Toma Dale’ on Hot Creations, followed by releases on the likes of Hottrax, elrow Music and Revival New York that draw on hip-hop, breaks, acid and Chicago. He mixes up originality and something distinctly energetic once again here with his latest outing.

Be My Lover feat. Windy City man Harrison Crump is a mid-tempo, warped and rolling deep house anthem with falsetto vocals that carry real r&b intimacy – they are breathy, soulful and rooted in proper songwriting. The Terrace Mix reframes the track for bigger rooms with driving 90s-influenced horn and organ stabs and a deeper low end that pulls things into classic New York house territory while keeping every ounce of its emotional edge.

These are two red-hot takes on one great song as Classmatic proves he’s as comfortable with real feelings as he is catering to the dance floor.
