Legendary Italian Stefano Noferini joins forces with new school star Nico Ramírez for two infectious new house tracks on Moon Harbour.
Florence-born Noferini has been shaping the sound of house and techno for decades. His Deeperfect Records has been core to that with more than 500 releases in the last 20 years, while the man himself has gone from iconic residencies at Cocoricò in Riccione to play all over the world. His influential radio show ‘Club Edition’ is broadcast on 110 radio stations across 15 countries and his discography includes a wide array of styles. Here he joins up with Nico Ramírez who was raised in Spain but is UK-based and has dropped plenty of tracks on the likes of Whippin and DistroKid and headlined BPM Festival earlier this year.
First comes the fresh and future-facing ‘Taking Over’, a stripped-back and gritty tech cut with brilliantly dry hits and drums full warmth. They bubble away beneath slick percussion while soothing and soulful vocals provide a magnetic hook to keep the floor locked in and grooving.
Then comes ‘Like Me’ which is a stylish house cut, this time with free-flowing drums and a bassline that envelops the groove. The pads are soft and subtle as a sensuous vocal whisper draws you into this deep and hypnotic late-night house sound.
These are two classy sounds for those who like it deep and stripped back to perfection.
