Izakaya Deployment
Pisco Sour incl. Matthias Tanzmann Remix

Izakaya Deployment makes an indelible mark on Moon Harbour with his new single ‘Pisco Sour’ which is backed with a remix from the founder, Matthias Tanzmann.

Izakaya Deployment hails from Lima, Peru but is hugely inspired by Japanese culture. He has a stylish sound that draws on both of those aspects of his character and has taken him to labels such as No Signal and Nein Records, while he also heads up his own No Signal Records.

His ‘Pisco Sour’ is a low-slung house cut that’s peppered with fluttering toms and dusty snares. A spoken word instructional monologue explains how to make the titular drink which is the national cocktail of Peru. Add in a wispy, prying synth lead and woodpecker-like hits and you have a slow-burning track that delivers a different kind of hit on the dance floor.

Matthias has been as busy as ever in the studio of late, in particular in collaborative mode with friends such as Black Circle on this label, and Davide Squillace on Dirtybird Records. His version ups the ante and is driven by more steely drum loops and fluttering synths. His signature percussion comes in to add more detail to this more raw and immediate remix.

These are two entrancing house heaters that will inject plenty of freshness into any set.
