To mark the 100th digital release on Moon Harbour, label founder Matthias Tanzmann tweaks one of his classic tracks from 2006, and the Robag Wruhme remix from the same original package also appears.
Matthias hasn’t stopped working in lockdown, as this timely remix follows ‘Daytona’, a fine collaboration with fellow Leipzig artist and long-time friend Sven Tasnadi that came back in May. He has also remixed Chus & Ceballos & Dennis Cruz’s ‘The Sun’ on Stereo Productions and recently played his first gig of summer in Basel, Switzerland. His Moon Harbour label is now 20 years strong, with various plans to celebrate in the works as soon as we can all get back to dancing together. But before that comes this essential new remix.
‘Bulldozer’ (2020 remix) finds Tanzmann in a deep, atmospheric mood, with a slinky baseline roaming about the mix beneath silky hi-hats. The groove is bubbly, the effects have a sci-fi feel and the whole track is sure to cast a subtle spell on the dance floor.
Robag Wruhme has long been serving up weird and wonderful minimal groves on the likes of Pampa and Kompakt. The adventurous producer and DJ is as unique now as he was 14 years ago when he cooked up this fantastic release. It’s an unhinged melodic masterclass with freaky sound designs and a deliciously dark groove for the late-night hours.
This is a fantastic package that marks this milestone in fitting fashion.
