Matthias Tanzmann revisits one of his classic cuts and updates it with a brand new VIP Mix. ‘Elrow’ came back in 2017 as a love letter to the famously colourful Spanish party he has been playing for years.

In the near decade since, the Leipzig legend has remained at the forefront with his Moon Harbour label continuing to define the sound of tech house. His own productions, which have recently often been in collaboration with friends and peers, form the backbone of the catalogue next to carefully A&R’d talents from across the underground.

The bright and bouncy ‘Elrow’ was always about capturing the crazy atmospheres of the Spanish party it is named for, and this version stays true to that but turns up the heat even more. The drums are big, bold and rolling, so they cut through parties of any size, and the vocal stabs are full of fire as they swirl through the mix. Layered percussion, smart bass kills and sweeping filters play with expectations, and once the drop comes, the floor is guaranteed to go off.

This smart update marks a welcome return for what is one of the many effective weapons in Tanzmann’s faultless back catalogue.
