Italian pair The Deepshakerz return to Moon Harbour following a standout collaboration with label head last year, this time with Zimbabwean artist Xander Pratt and with Matthias Tanzmann in remix mode alongside Leipzig’s Bundesliga star, Roomer.
Seasoned house stars Domy Berardino and Mirco Sonatore have an eclectic style that never starts from an infectious groove. Drop, tribal sound tech are all in their wheelhouse, and they serve it up on their label Safe Music as well as Adesso Music and MadTech. They have already hooked up with Pratt, a Morocco-based Zimbabwean avant-garde interdisciplinary artist, fashion designer, philanthropist, writer and entrepreneur once before back in 2024 with ‘Hotel East’. Now the trip once again taps into edgy contemporary grooves.
Their ‘Eyes’ is a layered groove with tribal percussion that brings a steamy jungle vibe. Vocal chants hypnotise as synths build the pressure, and the drops prompt big reactions. Underpinning it all is seriously weighty bass that will work equally well outdoors under the sun or in dark, strobe-lit clubs.
As well as energising the scene with his DJ sets across the world, tech house titan Matthias Tanzmann has been behind plenty of standout collaborations in recent times. Following releases with Francisco Allendes, Steve Bug, Black Circle and Mathias Kaden, he now links with emerging DJ and producer Roomer aka German national footballer and RB Leipzig’s leftback and club captain, David Raum. They flip the original into a more stripped-back, deep and dubby roller with smouldering vocals and subtle pads that bring the heat. It’s perfect for heads-down moments of late-night introspection.
‘Eyes’ confirms The Deepshakerz and Xander Pratt as masters of contemporary house, while the shadowy Tanzmann and Roomer remix reveals new dimensions to the original.
